RedSn0w ???!!!
There are news that the Dev Team is up to something new !
The RedSn0w is a new project {To Us At Least}.
Did the Dev Team reach their ultimate goal, of reaching to the absolute unlock, which will work on all upcoming basebands, and Apple updates. Wish so!!
But that will mean that Apple will have to release a new iPhone AGAIN , OOOOOOH !!
When will they learn the lesson ?!

Great News Everyone - Happy New Year with the Totally Unlocked iPhone 3G

Well everyone, the day we were waiting for had finally come, ALMOST!!
I have two pieces of great news:
I have two pieces of great news:
- The DevTeam is able to unlock the iPhone 3G till FW 2.2, but the Baseband shouldn't exceed 2.11. Baseband or Modem Firmware 2.28 is still not supported right now. The DevTeam had put a schedule; it seems they want to stick with it on New Year's Eve. So everyone who got baseband 2.11 or earlier, don't touch your iPhone till 31/12/2008. To the unfortunate guys, who I know very well, don't feel hopeless, the DevTeam, and of course me as an Egyptian, are beside you. The DevTeam is planning to continue till they unlock the 2.28, but they had to stick with the schedule, since it already took them long enough to unlock it. This unlock will not be through any software, it will be through Cydia on the jailbroken iPhones, so that's also fabulous! check there link: http://blog.iphone-dev.org/
- The second great news, to everyone who got their iPhone from Egypt, knows very well that their GPS is banned, except if you have a reliable sim-unlock like me, and knows how to use it. Now a great man have found the solution, check this link: Hackint0ch Forums starting from Pg.15 , and you can download the Patch Here. I'm TESTING it right now!!
HAVE FUN!!!
UPDATE-2: Please don't forget to change the permissions to 755 {VERY VERY IMPORTANT!-THANKS ADHAM}
UPDATE-1: Tested, and works great. But here are some advices:
- Turn off 3G & use Edge while Google Maps/GPS Tracker searches for your location. It works easier and faster when 3G is off.
- Download GPS Tracker, it has free registration online, to track your phone's position through internet. Track Thing is also a nice app. These apps give you the exact coordinates of your location & speed. They also synchs your iPhone 3G GPS chip with satellites, since Google Maps sometimes timeouts before doing this step.
- The blue dot should take less than a minute to pin-out you location only in CLEAR SKY OUTDOORS. Using the previous two apps make things smoother.
- In worst cases, if the GPS didn't pin you out, go to Settings --> General -->Reset --> Reset Network Settings -->Reset Network Settings confirmation. Try again after reboot, should work now.

iPhone 3G - GPS woking in Egypt
Hi there,
well here are the screenshots I got from my apple iPhone 3G, during one of my drives in Alexandria, Egypt. GPS is great, and couldn't believe the results I got especially in Egypt. This proves that apple, did some hard work, and good team-work too with Google. And if it worked in Egypt, then .......... you know .......... it works anywhere !!
